- স্থির কিছুর আগে at বসে।

On/Upon-উপরে
কোনো কিছুর উপরিতলের সংস্পর্শ বোঝাতে on বসে।Ex-1. The book is on the table.
নিদিষ্ট দিন বা তারিখের আগে on বসে।
Ex- 1. He came on Monday.
2. I received him on the 10th January.
উপলক্ষ বোঝাতে On বসে।
Ex-1.Rime invited me on her birthday.
নির্ভরশীলতা বা কারো উপর নির্ভর করা বোঝাতে On বসে।
Ex-1. The cow lives on grass.
ii. She depends on her husband.
পৃথিবীর আগে on বসে।
Ex-1. We live on the earth.
কোন কিছু বা কারো দ্বারা Support বা সমথর্ন বা সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়েছে এমন বোঝাতে On বসে।
Ex-
1. She was standing on one foot.
2. Try lying on your back.
3. Hang your coat on that hook.
যানবাহনকে মাধ্যম হিসেবে ব্যবহার করে তার উপর যাওয়া বা আসা বোঝাতে On বসে।

i) He was on the plane from New York.
ii) To travel on the bus/tube/coach.
iii) I came on my bike.
iv) A woman on horseback.
কিছু দিয়ে, কিছু ব্যবহার করে বোঝাতে যে মাধ্যম ব্যবহার করা হয় তার পূর্বে On বসে।

দিক দেখানোর জন্য on ব্যবহৃত হয়।

ii) A house on the Thames.
কোনো কিছুর ভিত্তি বা কারণ দেখাতে On ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Exact time বা সঠিক সময় বোঝাতে On বসে।

By-দে, দিয়ে, দ্বারা
কীভাবে বা কোন উপায়ে কিছু করা হয় তা দেখানোর জন্য By ব্যবহৃত হয়।Ex-
i) The house is heated by gas.
ii) May I pay by credit card?
iii) To travel by boat/bus/car/plane.
কারো বা কোন কিছুর পাশে বোঝাতে By বসে।
Ex-
i) A house by the river.
ii) The telephone is by the window.
iii) Come and sit by me.
কোন কাজ কে করেছে বা যার দ্বারা ক্রিয়া সম্পাদন করা হয় এমন কিছু বুঝাতে Passive voice এ তার আগে By ব্যবহৃত হয়।

i) He was knocked down by a bus.
ii) Rice is eaten by me.
ভবিষ্যতের (উল্লেখিত) নিদিষ্ট সময়ের আগে By বসে।
Ex-
i) Can you finish the work by five o'clock?
ii) I'll have it done by tomorrow.
iii) By this time next week we'll be in New York.
iv) He ought to have arrived by now/by this time.
কোনো বিশেষ Noun-এর আগে যাতে The ব্যবহৃত হয় না; Preposition এর পরিবর্তে By বসে।

i) They met by chance.
ii) I did it by mistake.
ডিগ্রী বা পরিমাণ দেখাতে By ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Ex-
i) The bullet missed him by two inches.
ii) House prices went up by 10%.
অনুসারে বুঝাতে By বসে।
Ex-
i) By my watch it is two o'clock.
ii) I could tell by the look on her face that something terrible had happened.
অতীত কাউকে বা কিছু সম্পর্কে কোন কথা বলতে তার পূর্বে By বসে।
Ex-
i) He walked by me without speaking.
কিছু বা কাউকে স্পর্শ করে আছে; সেই অংশকে বোঝাতে By বসে।

i) I took him by the hand.
ii) She seized her by the hair.
কোনো কিছুর পরিমাণ বোঝাতে By বসে।

কেউ কোথা থেকে আসে বা কেউ কী করে(পেশা বুঝাতে) সেই তথ্য দেওয়ার জন্য By ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Without-কোনো কিছু ছাড়া
Ex-

ii) He found the place without difficulty.
iii) She spoke without much enthusiasm.

Under-নিচে
তল স্পর্শ করে থাকলে তখন তার আগে Under বসে।Ex-
i) The cat is under the table.
ii) His shoes were under his bed.
নিচে বা কম বোঝাতে under বসে।
Ex-
i) He is under 18.
ii) I have two children under the age of ten.
Below-নিচে
কোনো কিছুর নিচে বোঝাতে below বসে। অর্থাৎ দুইটা জিনিসের মধ্যে কোনো স্পর্শ থাকবে না তখন below বসে। Below is just opposite to Under.Ex-
i) He dived below the surface of the water.
ii) Please, do not write below this line.
একটি নিম্ন স্তরে, অবস্থান বুঝাতে Below বসে।
Ex-
i) They live on the floor below.
ii) I could still see the airport buildings far below.
নিম্ন পদে বোঝাতে তার আগে Below বসে।
Ex-
i) This ruling applies to the ranks of Inspector and below.
With-সাথে, দিয়ে, দ্বারা
দিয়ে বা দ্বারা বোঝাতে যে Noun বা Pronoun দিয়ে কাজ করা হয় তার আগে with বসে।Ex-
i) I play with a stick.
কারো/ কিছুর সাথে বোঝাতে with বসে।
Ex-
i)Kalam lives with me.
(ii) I go to school with him.
কাছে বোঝাতে with বসে।

i) Naba reads with me.
সত্বেও বোঝাতে with বসে।

i) With all his riches, he is not willing to donate something.

একটি নির্দিষ্ট ব্যাকগ্রাউন্ড থেকে আসা বা একটি জায়গায় বাস করা বোঝাতে of বসে।

বাংলা শব্দের শেষে -এর বা র অর্থে আসলে of বসে।

কারো অন্তর্ভুক্ত বুঝাতে Of বসে।

কিছু দ্বারা গঠিত বোঝাতে of বসে।

The house is made of concrete, iron and cement.
সময়, বয়স, পরিমাপ এবং অভিব্যক্তির সাথে of ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Ex-
i) 2 kilos of potatoes.
iii) A girl of 12.
iii) The fourth of July.
কারো অবস্থান বোঝাতে of বসে৷
Ex-
i) He is just a salary-paid officer of the company.
ii) At the time of revolution his grandfather was born.
Verb দ্বারা গঠিত যে Noun হয় ঐ Noun-এর পরে Of বসে। (Noun পরে ব্যবহৃত Of phrasal-টি হতে পারে অবজেক্ট কিংবা Subject of the action verb.)
Ex-
i) The arrival of the police (= they arrive).
ii) Criticism of the police (= they are criticised).
For-জন্যে/জন্য
উদ্দেশ্য বা জন্য বুঝাতে FOR বসে।Ex-
i) There's a letter for you.
ii)It's a book for children.
কাউকে বা কিছুকে সাহায্য করা বুঝাতে For বসে।
Ex-
i) What can I do for you (= how can I help you)?
ii) Can you translate this letter for me?
উদ্দেশ্য বা ফাংশন দেখানোর জন্য For ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Ex-
i) A pen for writing scripts.
ii) Let's go for a walk.
কারণ (reason/cause) প্রকাশ করতে For বসে।
Ex-
i) The town is famous for its mosques.
ii) She gave me a watch for my birthday.
iii) He got an award for bravery.
কিছু পাওয়ার (to obtain something) জন্যে For বসে।
Ex-
i) He came to me for advice.
ii) For more information, call this number.
iii) There were over fifty applicants for the job
সময়ের দৈর্ঘ্য দেখানোর জন্য For ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Ex-
i) Going away for a few days.
ii) That's all the news there is for now.
দূরত্ব দেখাতে বা বোঝাতে For বসে।
Ex-
i) The roads went on for miles and miles.
কেউ বা কিছু কোথায় যাচ্ছে তা দেখানোর জন্য For ব্যবহৃত হয়।

ii) She knew she was destined for a great future.
একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে কিছু ঘটাবে এমন বুঝাতে For ব্যবহৃত হয়।

কারো জন্যে বা কোন Company দ্বারা নিযুক্ত বুঝাতে For বসে।

i) He's working for an insurance company.
ii) Kamal works for me.
কারো/কিছুর সাথে সংযোগে বুঝাতে For বসে।
Ex-
i) They are anxious for her safety.
ii) Fortunately for us, the weather changed.
প্রতিনিধিত্ব করা বা কারো প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে কাজ করা বুঝাতে For বসে।
Ex-
i) I am speaking for everyone in this department.
ii) The lady came here for her company.
কাউকে সমথর্ন বা সহায়তা করা বুঝাতে For বসে। ( Supporting someone/something)

i) You for or against the proposal?
ii) They voted for independence in a referendum.
কারো/কিছু থেকে কি আশা করা যায় তা বিবেচনা করতে For বসে।

কতটা কঠিন, প্রয়োজনীয়, আনন্দদায়ক, ইত্যাদি এমন কিছু যা কেউ করতে পারে বা করেছে তা বুঝাতে FOR ব্যবহৃত হয়।

iii) For her to have survived such an ordeal was remarkable.

From-হতে বা থেকে
কোনো স্থান থেকে বা কারো কাছ থেকে শুরু বা যাত্রা হওয়া বুঝাতে From বসে।Ex-
i) She began to walk away from him.
ii) Has the train from Sylhet arrived?
কিছু থেকে উৎপত্তি হওয়া দেখানোর জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Ex-
i) I'm from Italy.
ii) Documents from the sixteenth century.
কারো কাছ থেকে কিছু পাঠানো হলে যে পাঠায় তার পূর্বে From বসে।
Ex-
i) A letter from my brother.
ii) Information from witnesses.
iii) The man from (= representing) the insurance company.
কোনো সময় থেকে শুরু হওয়া বোঝালে ঐ সময়ের পূর্বে From বসে।

i) We're open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day

কারো অবস্থান বা দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি বুঝাতে From ব্যবহৃত হয়।

এক রূপ থেকে আরেক রূপে পরিবর্তন বুঝাতে From ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Durning-যাবৎ বা কোনো সময় বা স্থিতিকাল ধরে
একটি নিদিষ্ট সময় বা কাল থেকে কোনো কিছু চলছে বুঝাতে During বসে।Ex-

ii) Please remain seated during the performance.
iii) During the 1990s Pop Culture exploded in popularity.
কোনো একটা সময় থেকে শুরু করা বা হওয়া বুঝাতে During বসে।

Within-মধ্যে
একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময় অতিক্রান্ত হওয়ার আগে বা কোনো একটি সময়ের মধ্যে Within বসে।Ex-
i) You should receive a reply within seven days.
ii) The ambulance arrived within minutes of the call being made.
কোনো কিছু থেকে একটি নির্দিষ্ট দূরত্বের বেশি নয়, এমন বুঝাতে Within বসে।

কোনো কিছুর পরিসর বা সীমার ভিতরে বুঝাতে Within বসে।

একরূপ থেকে আরেক রূপ ধারণ বা অবস্থার পরিবর্তন করতে Into বসে।

Towards-দিকে
কারো বা কিছুর দিকে যাওয়া বুঝাতে Towards বসে।Ex-
i) They were heading towards the German border.
ii) She had her back towards me.
কিছু অর্জনের কাছাকাছি যাওয়া বুঝাতে Towards বসে।
Ex-
i) This is a first step towards political union.
কারো/কিছুর সাথে সম্পর্কযুক্ত বুঝাতে Towards বসে।
Ex-
i) He was warm and tender towards her.
ii) Our attitude towards death.
Off-বিচ্যুৎ হওয়া
একটি স্থান বা সময় থেকে সড়ে যাওয়া বা বিচ্যুত হওয়া বুঝাতে Off বসে।Ex-
i) I fell off the ladder.
ii) Keep off the grass!
iii) An island off the coast of Spain.
vi) We're getting right off the subject.
vii) The electricity went off.
কাজ/দায়িত্ব থেকে দূরে সরে যাওয়া বুঝাতে Off বসে।

Besides-ব্যতীত বা এছাড়া
কোন কিছু ছাড়া বা ব্যতীত বুঝাতে Besides বসে।Ex-
i) We have lots of things in common besides music.
ii) Besides working as a doctor, he also writes novels in his spare time.
iii) I've got no family besides my parents.
Beside-পাশে
কারো/কিছুর পাশে বুঝাতে Beside বসে।Ex-
i) He sat beside her all night.
ii) A mill beside a stream.
Before-আগে/সামনে
কারো বা কিছুর আগে বা সামনে বুঝাতে Before বসে।Ex
i) Before lunch
ii) The day before yesterday
iii) The year before last he won a gold medal,
and the year before that he won a silver.
iv) She's lived there since before the war.
v) He arrived before me.
vi) She became a lawyer as her father had before her.
vii) Your name is before mine on the list.
viii) He puts his work before everything (= regards it as more important than anything else).
এমন কারো উপস্থিতিতে যে শুনছে, দেখছে তার আগে Before বসে।
